Rewind: Just One 2009

What a wonderful time we had at the Just One conference in November 2009. Here are some of the highlights of the messages shared by Dominic & Jodi:

Women at War

Historically in times of war women have been called up for battle. Prior to the Second World War women were expected to be house wives or just do “women’s jobs”. But the war changed that – as men went to fight, women were called up to cover their jobs, jobs which previously were thought unsuitable for women (e.g. mechanics, engineers, tank drivers, plumbers, etc.). Women were also called up for war work. Today we are in a spiritual war and this is the time for the women to stand up and be counted - to STORM the gates of heaven in prayer, to STORM the gates of hell in soul-winning, and to disturb the normal condition that is in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, the wind of God.

Storm: “a disturbance of the normal condition of the atmosphere manifested by winds of unusual force”

Woman thou art loosed

There has been a crippling spirit operating upon the women of our church. But Luke 13 is a picture of what God is saying to our women in these times. God is divinely straightening and aligning the women of LGCC with his purposes that they may walk in the Spirit with a new confidence. The crippling spirit has been broken:

And a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God (Luke 13:11-13).

Pregnant with the promises of God

God is looking to impregnate the seed of his word in your spiritual womb. He is opening up the spiritual wombs of the women in LGCC that they would give birth to the promises of God. There have been spiritual abortions and miscarriages of the promises in times past, but this is a new day. Spiritual barrenness is also being healed. Forget the past – and remember that many of the great biblical deliverers were born from barren wombs! Allow the word to be lodged in the womb of your Spirit. And hold fast – delivery is coming! You are carrying a miracle inside you! You are highly favoured! The Holy Spirit is with you! And you are blessed among women! See Luke 1:26-38.

What do you have in your hand?

God has given into the hands of every believer something they can use. Moses only had a wooden staff. But as he lifted it up to God, amazing miracles took place.

What do you have to use? Rosa Parks used her feet, to walk instead of take the bus when she wasn’t allowed to sit down because of the colour of her skin. Mother Teresa used her smile, and then her hands, to comfort and feed the poor and bandage the sick. Kathryn Khulman, Polly Wigglesworth, Catherine Booth and Aimee Semple McPherson used their mouths to preach the gospel.

Life wasn’t easy for some of these women - some were imprisoned, some slandered in the media. They were hated and rejected. Some faced sickness, kidnapping, difficult marriages, divorce, and the death of their children - but they didn’t give up and they chose to overcome.

Today you also have a choice. What do you choose? Do you choose yourself and your own comfort, or do you look at a nation and a world in great need of modern day Rosa Parks, Catherine Booths and the like? Are you willing to lift up that staff in your hand and say “Yes Lord, use me”. Surrender what you have to God – and see what God can do with just one woman surrendered to him.

There has never such a need for God’s women to rise up and become all they can be. God needs his daughters to pull themselves up, and pull themselves together, and to start to do his miraculous work on the earth.
