WEEK ONE

DAY ONE

James 4: 8a Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

As we enter 21 days of Prayer and Fasting. There is an invitation before us to ‘Make Room’ for the Father by freeing ourselves from the distractions that hinder us from the presence of God. As we make room for him, we discover that God desires to be with us far more than we imagine. Let us commit to creating space each day to talk, read and listen to him as he speaks to us.

DAY TWO

Psalm 51: 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

At the start of this 21 days of Prayer and Fasting, we come before you Lord, and ask for a cleansing of our hearts and spirits. We repent where the pressures and cares of the world have overwhelmed us and we commit ourselves to focus afresh upon you Jesus, your love, grace and kindness. Renew our hearts and spirits we pray in Jesus Name. Amen.

DAY THREE

Psalm 16: 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

We thank you Lord that in your presence there is fulness of joy. Help us to make room today by spending time with you so that as we go about our day, your presence will overflow to those around us, and your joy will be evident in our lives.

DAY FOUR

Matthew 13: 33 He told them still another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about thirty kilograms of flour until it worked all through the dough.’

Lord, today we pray that our church will be a place where the Kingdom grows. That as we make room in our services for your presence to be manifest, people encounter the love of Jesus. We ask for salvations to become an everyday reality in our church, that many will experience the joy of knowing the King.

DAY FIVE

Colossians 1: 28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

Lord, today we call the Church into a place of maturity and wisdom. We call forth the teachers and pastors to disciple the flock. We pray we will be people who desire to know Jesus better. Forgive us for being too busy about our own lives. Let us be teachable and grow in wisdom and stature, in favour with God and man (Luke 2: 52).

DAY SIX

Matthew 28: 18 – 20 Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

We commit today to being people who go out into our world with the love of Jesus. Lord, we desire that our communities are transformed as people encounter you. Bless all the practical ways that your church is reaching the community through the Food Bank, Uniform Bank, Christians Against Poverty and in many other ways. We pray an increase in creative and innovative ways to reach those in our communities who do not yet know the love of the Saviour.

DAY SEVEN

Psalm 68: 1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered; may his foes flee before him.

Today, we pray that the Church will arise in this nation and rule over the dark forces that seek to dominate our land. We pray that God’s Kingdom will be increasingly evident in our society as the Church stands firm in its faith, proclaiming Jesus to be Lord, Saviour, Healer and Deliverer.

WEEK TWO

DAY EIGHT

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

At the start of a new week, we pray the Church will be a place of forgiveness. We pray that as followers of Christ we will walk in the forgiveness of God, knowing our sins are forgiven and we are free from guilt and shame.  Therefore, we pray that we will also be people who freely forgive those who have hurt, upset or offended us.

DAY NINE

Proverbs 3: 13 – 14 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.

We pray and ask God that we will be people of wisdom. His word assures us that if we ask for wisdom, he will give it generously to us. May we desire wisdom over all earthly treasures that we may be people who bring Godly solutions to difficult situations. We thank God for wise words that will bring joy and breakthrough.

DAY TEN

Luke 10: 1 – 2 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

Today, we focus on the harvest, recognising that the fields in this area are ripe for harvest. So many are lost and need a Saviour. We ask that there would be an increasing openness to the Gospel in our communities We commit ourselves to being available to bring in the harvest and we call the evangelists to help us that God’s house will be full.

DAY ELEVEN

Acts 4: 29 – 30 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’

We thank God for the legacy of Elim and George Jeffreys that founded LGCC and we pick up the mantle they left us that we will be a church that preaches the Gospel with signs and wonders following. We pray for wisdom, strength and courage to speak with great boldness that we may see many miracles of healing and breakthrough in Jesus Name.

DAY TWELVE

John 15: 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

We thank you God for Alpha and all the amazing fruit that the course has produced over the years. We speak blessing to every Alpha course starting in this new year and especially to the one here at LGCC. May the course bear much fruit, may people’s lives be saved and transformed by the power of the Gospel.

DAY THIRTEEN

Matthew 19: 16 Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’

We pray for the young people and children in our church and wider communities. We thank you for all the people who tirelessly work with our children and young people in this church. Bless and anoint them. Give them creative ideas and we call forth the helpers to assist them in this vital ministry. May our children grow in their knowledge and like Jesus became strong and filled with wisdom, and the grace of God will be upon them (Luke 2: 40).

DAY FOURTEEN

Matthew 5: 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

We pray too that the Gospel will go forth into the schools and youth clubs in this area. We pray blessing, anointing and strength on Christian teachers and schools’ workers. We pray that our children and young people will be effective witnesses in their schools. Help them to stand firm despite the pressures surrounding them.

WEEK THREE

DAY FIFTEEN

Romans 12: 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

As we enter the final week of our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we pray for the renewing of our minds to think thoughts pleasing to you Lord. Forgive us for letting ungodly beliefs and lies negatively affect our thoughts and lives. Help us instead to renew our minds through reading the Bible that will transform our thinking and lifestyle.

DAY SIXTEEN

John 4: 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.

We thank you Lord for everyone who leads the worship in this church. Bless them and anoint them we pray. May they lead from an authentic place of personal worship. Thank you for all those whose worship ministry is a blessing across the Body of Christ. Protect them from all harm and the lies and deceptions of the enemy. May the worship of your Church be a fragrant offering before the throne of God.

DAY SEVENTEEN

Acts 5: 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

We thank you God for the connect groups in this church. We pray they will be places of fellowship, worship and teaching, that the church may be built up. Strengthen and anoint the leaders.

DAY EIGHTEEN

1 Peter 2: 17 Show proper respect to everyone …

We pray that God’s truth and wisdom will be heard in every place of higher education in this nation, changing atmospheres, mindsets, hearts and lifestyles.

We declare in our schools and universities freedom of speech, the freedom to debate, the freedom to choose, and the freedom to agree or to disagree will be valued and protected, balanced by respect for others.  Raise up a generation who know their true identity in you God and can stand in this day against the lies and deceptions of the enemy that seek to confuse and steal their true calling from our young people.

DAY NINETEEN

Isaiah 11: 2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him –
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord –

We call the Church in this locality to be a place of influence, Godly counsel and wisdom. We pray that every parish, district and county council will have Godly men and women serving on them to offer the counsel of God into all local matters. We pray that councillors and councils will be a blessing, seeking to serve their local communities and rising above personal or political priorities.

DAY TWENTY

Exodus 35: 35 He has filled them (Oholiab and Bezalel) with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers – all of them skilled workers and designers.

We pray that God would raise up and anoint a fresh generation of skilled people to design and create beautiful works for his glory. We call forth creative, gifted and anointed people in the spheres of the arts, music, dance, drama and media. We pray for an innovative anointing upon those working in all areas of technology. May the world marvel at what God’s people can produce with the anointing of God upon them and may all glory go to him.

DAY TWENTY-ONE

Philippians 4: 4- 7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

As we conclude our 21 days of prayer and fasting, we thank God for all that has been accomplished during this time. We anticipate breakthrough in our own lives, this church, this area and this nation. We thank you God that we are going to see long-lasting fruit from our prayers, and we bless you for your love, goodness, kindness and mercy to your children.

Daily Prayer Focus

Christianity is supposed to be a fresh, dynamic, and a daily encounter with the living God. While we may hit a dry or difficult season, we can still press in daily to know Him more. And even in tough times, prayer helps us find the living water—and the daily bread— that sustains us until the season shifts.

Our God is good, and He desires so much that we seek Him that He’s given us a need to pray daily. Prayer connects us with the source of all life, fulfillment, and joy with God Himself. As we talk to the One who lacks nothing, our needs will be met (see Psalm 23).

Here are some daily prayer focusses and Scriptures you can use over 21 Days…
